I want to compare the culture of America with culture in Indonesia based on film “Nowhere to Run” which I watched. In America, people always using spoon and fork to eat. In Indonesia, people not always use spoon and fork to eat. People of America wear jeans to work in field, but In Indonesia, jeans is worn to campus, Mall, etc. Students in America not wear uniform to school. In Indonesia, students must wear uniform to school.

Make a report from the Book Analysis of "LANANG"

July, 19th 2008 at 10 A.M, FKIP Pakuan University was organized the Book Analysis of "LANANG" which presented the writer of "LANANG" Yonathan Rahardjo and his friends. Mr. Deddy Sopyan S., Drs. as a dean of FKIP was opening the event. After that, three speakers were retell the summary of "Lanang".

Lanang is the story tells about a veterinarian life named Lanang. He has wife named Putri. They live in the village. In those village, Lanang help dairy cow breeder. But, one day little cow that he help was died. After that, many dairy cows died. Before dead, the dairy cow wasn’t look at sick. Lanang felt shocked and confused. He searched the caused why dairy cow was died, but he didn’t find anything. In the meeting that search the caused what happen with the dairy cow. Rajikun as a “dukun hewan” told that the caused of it is “burung babi hutan”. All of people there didn’t believe it except Lanang who ever met with “burung babi hutan”. Lanang wanted seek “burung babi hutan.” When he sought it, he made a relationship with Rapiqoh who is prostitute woman. Lanang is a playboy, he also make a relationship with Doctor Dewi who is ex-girlfriend when they were student in University. Finally, Lanang was succeed killed “burung babi hutan”. After that, Lanang became a famous person at the village. But, he must got the fact that his wife, Putri dishonest with Rajikun. Beside that, he knew that Doctor Dewi is the mastermind of all the problems. One day he met Dewi in laboratory. Dewi and her friends would become Lanang as their experiment.

I think the Book Analysis of "LANANG" was excited. Especially, when Mrs.Suryati Ningsih gave a question that "Lanang is the true character of Yonathan Rahardjo?" and then Yonathan Rahardjo who the writer of "LANANG" gave the clarification about his novel. Beside that, Yonathan Rahardjo was kind, friendly and low profile.

Reading this novel is interesting, but Yonathan Rahardjo wrote in difficult and sciences words that it is difficult for the readers to understand. When I was reading Lanang’s characteristic, I remembered my friend said that nobody is perfect. This is an interesting novel to read. It gives a lot of things to learn, but its more conflict and amoral situations. So, this novel only can be read by adults.

The Swiss Family Robinson tells about a close family who has found themselves stranded on an island after a shipwreck. The family is made up of their intelligent and resourceful father, a kind and caring mother, and their four sons named Fritz, Ernest, Jack, and Franz. Fritz is the eldest son, he is often tough on his brothers despite his good intentions. Ernest is the second oldest, and he is intelligent and well-formed, though indolent. Jack is the third oldest son. He is bold, but often thoughtless. Last is Franz, the youngest son, he always help her mother.

The story begins with the family's good fortune when they survive a shipwreck in a terrible storm. They find themselves stuck on a ship, after being abandoned by their shipmates, but not too far from shore. Luckily, the family discovers many supplies on the ship, including clothing, tools, fish hooks, guns and gun powder, and various useful animals. They find even more treasures on the endlessly fruitful island, and continue to prosper and make new and exciting discoveries.The boys eventually grow into men and embark on adventures and learn from each other and the land. One day the family finds a mysterious message tied to an albatross's leg. The message gives them a way back to civilization from friendly strangers, and finally leads the family to make the hardest decisions of their lives. Which of them will stay on the island they have made their home, and which will make the difficult decision to leave the island and their family forever.

From the article, “Alcoholism”, we know that Alcohol is very danger for our health. A person who drinks alcohol redundant is possible to get alcoholism. Alcoholism is one of the most destructive diseases. It can cause a variety of serious illness, for example can irritate the stomach, cause gastritis or serious ulcers, cause malnutrition, damage the cardiovascular system, cancer of mouth, pharynx, larynx, and esophagus. Even alcoholism can cause of death, about 75% of these death include innocent victims. So, we have to fight against alcoholism.

When the party was started, all the children came with theirs fancy hat. Jim was wearing a bowler hat, daisy was wearing a witch hat and Martin was wearing an astronout hat. Martin thought that he was certain to win a prize. But he was wrong. Joey's hat was the best among the others. Joey was wearing birthday's cake hat. Because of the hat competition was going to be the last game, all of the hats keep in Harry's bedroom. But, secretly Martin slipped out of the room and snipped the Joey's hat. It looked quite a mess. Joey felt so sad. But, Harry's mother said that Joey's hat still cute. It's looked like feast of rice. Finally, Joey won. Martin was dissapointed but because of that he was conscious that he deserved to lose because he was cheated.
